The City of Peoria is receiving Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funding from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist in our community’s response to COVID-19. The City is offering programs to assist nonprofit agencies, small businesses, and households in their responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
PUBLIC SERVICE ASSISTANCE
The application period for Public Service Applications is now CLOSED.
Applications that were submitted and deemed eligible by city staff will be reviewed and scored by the CDBG Public Service Advisory Commission. The Commission will meet to make funding decisions on Friday, July 17th at 8:30a.m.
The funding recommendations of the Commission will go to City Council on Tuesday, July 28th.
Applicants will be notified on Wednesday, July 29th of the action taken by the City Council.
If you have questions about your application, please email grants@peoriagov.org.
SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE
The application period for Small Business Assistance is now CLOSED.
A virtual lottery was held on Tuesday, July 7th at 10:00 am to create a randomized list of businesses that had applied for the program. Please note, being included in the lottery does NOT guarantee funding.
The businesses will be screened for eligibility by City staff in the randomized lottery order. They will be required to provide documentation of the financial impact they experienced due to COVID-19. They must also provide documentation to show that they meet the income qualifications of the program.
Once City staff receive all of the required documentation, they will be able to determine whether or not a business is eligible for funding.
If a business is eligible for funding, they will receive an award letter and an agreement from the City of Peoria. They must sign and return the agreement.
Once the agreement is in place, payments for eligible expenses can be made. Businesses must submit their bills to City staff for payment or request reimbursement for payments made, provided proper documentation is submitted.
Below is a recording of the virtual lottery.
