The city of Peoria wants to remind businesses that Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order 20-10 requires all non-essential businesses and operations to cease all activities except for minimum basic operations. Under this order, non-essential businesses should only continue operations if their employees or contractors are able to work from home. The city of Peoria thanks all businesses who are following this order and recognizes that this is an uncertain and unprecedented time for local businesses to navigate.

Small and local businesses do not have to weather the impacts and fallout of COVID-19 alone. Several resources exist for businesses facing shortfalls due to COVID-19 including grants, loans, and other resources. Business owners are encouraged to utilize the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council’s website at www.gpcovid.com for information on available grants and loans for small and local businesses.

The city of Peoria Economic Development Department is hosting a series of regular virtual meetings with local businesses impacted by COVID-19 starting this Thursday, April 23rd at 1:00 PM via Zoom. The goal of these meetings is to keep businesses up to date with the latest information on upcoming financial resources to combat the economic effects resulting from COVID-19.

Businesses interested in attending the weekly Zoom meeting should contact the city of Peoria Economic Development Department at economicdevelopment@peoriagov.org to obtain an access code for each meeting.
