Last April, the City of Peoria Community Development Department worked with Bradley University COM 103 students to brainstorm ways to improve Peoria.

Two student speeches addressing the question, “What Can We Do to Improve Peoria for $1,000 or Less” were chosen to be implemented, and we are excited to be executing Haley Hardtke’s pitch called “My Piece of Peoria” this Saturday (June 16th) at the Riverfront farmer’s market.

Join Community Development Department employees from 8am-12pm for free popcorn and the opportunity to paint a ceramic tile with your favorite part of Peoria. The tiles will then be made into a mural that will be unveiled at this year’s Great Neighbor Appreciation Week (July 9th- 14th). The purpose of this project is to highlight all of the wonderful parts of Peoria and increase civic engagement. We can’t wait to see you there!
