The City of Peoria Community Development Department is celebrating Building Safety Month this May. Building Safety Month is a worldwide campaign that seeks to promote public awareness about the role that building codes play in keeping the public safe from disasters such as fire, flooding, and storm damage. It is also a time to recognize the hard work of the City of Peoria Building Safety Division. The Building Safety Division is dedicated to creating a safe and more sustainable Peoria through building safety codes.

Citizens have the opportunity to participate by considering ways in which they can safeguard their property and protect their family from disasters through emergency planning. The articles links under each weekly theme provide insightful information on how to so as well as save some money in the process.
