On Saturday, April 28th, the City of Peoria Community Development department partnered with neighborhood associations across Peoria to clean, restore, and renew our community during the 2018 Great American Cleanup. This year, Community Development partnered with Bradley University COM 103 classes to clean up streets, pick up alleyways, and plant flowers. Before joining neighborhood associations in the cleanup effort, Community Development staff gave tours of Peoria’s unique neighborhoods, historic sites, public art, and recreational areas to busloads of undergraduate students.
The cleanup efforts of City staff, neighborhood volunteers, Keep Peoria Beautiful, and Bradley COM 103 students were a success resulting in cleaner streets and a greener Peoria. The Community Development Department looks forward to partnering with the community in the future to make a difference in our neighborhoods.
